Sigma Aldrich Job Position for Synthetic Organic Chemists

Principal Scientist-Stable Isotope Synthesis, Sigma Aldrich, Miamisburg, OH

This position requires a PhD in Synthesis Organic Chemistry with postdoctoral experience in organic synthesis and minimum 5 years of industrial experience in stable isotope custom synthesis. Responsibilities will include researching and developing new stable isotope labeled compounds such as 13C, D, 15N, 18O labeled hyperpolarized imaging reagents, fatty acids, steroids, monomer etc.; designing new methodology & strategy for multi-step synthesis of label compounds; improving existing processes and products for cost reduction, better quality and shorten cycle time; performing and designing custom synthesis of stable isotope labeled compounds requested by our customers; training our production chemists to make products and problem solving; Assisting the manager to prepare custom synthesis quotes and interacts with customers to solve technical issues

Candidate must demonstrate excellent leadership and problem-solving skills and have strong background on HPLC, GC, NMR and MS. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and production equipment. OSHA, EPA, FDA Regulations, GMP and ISO guidelines and regulations.
