A postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of Chemistry at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey, US. This position will be the inaugural appointment in the multidisciplinary Center for Sustainable Synthesis.
The postdoctoral researcher will be working to develop a cascade reaction combining enzyme- and
transition metal-catalyzed reactions.
The postdoctoral researcher will be co-mentored by professors
Frank Jordan and Michal Szostak for the enzymatic and synthetic organic chemistry aspects of the
project, respectively.
A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree and a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry,
particularly in asymmetric synthesis and/or catalysis, and will be able to start on or about September 1,
2015. The initial appointment is for 9 months.
